Cocoa futures fall

After a rather long winning streak, cocoa has finally dropped in commodities trading. As the end of the currency harvest approaches, and the way is cleared for new planting, cocoa futures are falling. Bloomberg reports on cocoa in commodities trading:

Global cocoa production will probably move into ``near
balance'' with demand this season, buoyed by bigger harvests in
Ivory Coast, the International Cocoa Organization said last week.
Unfavorable weather reduced output in the main cocoa producing
countries last season, creating a supply shortfall of 156,000
tons, according to the ICCO.
