U.S. stock markets are set to open marginally higher Tuesday ahead of important producer price inflation data due at 1330 GMT.

"The markets are expected to climb higher on hopes that although <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">U.S.</place></country-region> economic growth is slowing, it is at high enough levels to sustain corporate profits," says Martin Slaney of GFT Global Markets.   On the corporate front, the market will watch third-quarter earnings from Wal-Mart and Target closely, Slaney notes.
