U.S. Stock Futures Lower

Spread betting and contracts for differences on U.S. stocks

Spread bets and CFDs on the U.S. stock market should consider that futures are pointing to a lower open today. Indeed, U.S. stock futures are lower today, as economic news fails to spur a continuation of Friday's rally.

Friday saw a rally in the stock market as Fed chair Ben Bernanke insisted that the Fed would do all it could to shore up the U.S. economy. The news helped propel stocks much higher on Friday.

Today, though, a lot of that optimism appears to be spent. U.S. stock futures are pointing to a lower open, on the heels of an expansion of quantitative easing in Japan, as well as mostly lower stock performances in Europe.
