Spread bets and CFDs on European markets

Ireland saw itself downgraded by Moody's today, its credit rating dropped from Aa1 to Aa2. As expected, the downgrade comes as concerns about Irish government debt continue to weight on the country.

In addition to this news about Ireland, there is more on Spain, which is seeing more bad debt. Companies in Spain are filing for bankruptcy, and the unemployment rate continues to rise.

The news about Ireland comes as the euro zone continues to try and come to grips with widespread sovereign debt issues. Spread betting and contracts for differences on European markets should consider that it could get even more interesting when Friday rolls around and bank stress test results are released in Europe.
