Is Hungary the Next Greece?

Spread bets and CFDs on European markets

Lajos Kosa, the most recently elected leader in Hungary, is claiming that the issues with the economy are so bad that it is likely the Eastern European country will suffer a fate similar to that plaguing Greece.

The new government is claiming that it might suspend some of the provisions in its constitution in order to address the problem. Also, it doesn't appear that austerity measures are on the list.

The news comes just after Greece announced that it will begin privatizing many of its state-owned companies. However, Greece has implemented austerity measures, as has Spain, another country in trouble. Some are concerned that Hungary, while decrying the current problems, is reluctant to institute austerity measures.

The news out of Hungary doesn't seem too bad, though, in terms of affecting the rest of Europe. Spread betting and contracts for differences should consider that European stocks are higher today.
