Yesterday, U.S. stocks closed higher, with the Dow logging solid gains and the other stock indices see modest improvement. Today's higher open is expected, thanks to the latest policy announcement from the U.S. Federal Reserve.
The fed believes that the labour market is stabilising, and that things in general are improving. However, the FOMC insists that low interest rates will need to be in place for an "extended period". This news has investors pleased with developments, and U.S. stock futures readying for a higher open.
