| March 12, 2010 | | Spread betting and contracts for differences on the U.S. stock market | U.S. stock futures are pointing to a higher open today. Yesterday, U.S. stocks managed to pull out of disappointing open and make some solid gains. Today, it appears that retail sales data is ready to help stocks start off on a little better footing.
Indeed, U.S. stock futures got a boost from the report that February retail sales showed an increase. There is hope that U.S. stocks will follow what has so far been a global equity rally, with Asian stocks mostly higher today, and European stocks and the FTSE 100 higher right now as well.
Spread bets and CFDs should consider that the U.S. economy is showing signs of recovery, and that is good news for the U.S. stock market.
