| January 28, 2010 | | Spread bets and CFDs on U.S. stocks | Spread betting and contracts for differences on U.S. markets should consider that risk appetite is on the rise this morning, thanks to positive reaction from the State of the Union Address given by U.S. President Barack Obama.
Obama encouraged Americans to be strong, and to hang in there, reminding them that messes of this magnitude don't get fixed in only one year. He also made an effort to accept responsibility for his mistakes. Public response to the speech was generally positive, and investors are also upbeat.
One of the main boosts comes from Obama's plan to encourage job creation. He wants to offer tax advantages to companies that hire more in the coming year.
