U.S. Stock Futures Look for Higher Open

Spread betting and contracts for differences on U.S. stocks

Spread bets and CFDs on the U.S. stock market should consider that there is the expectation of a good day today. U.S. stock futures are pointing to a higher open, looking for the advantage after a long holiday break (and ahead of another break at the end of this week).

The Santa Claus Rally is expected to be in force this week, providing some solid gains for the U.S. stock market. Additionally, economic news and retail results from the past couple of weeks will be in focus as investors try to process how successful things have been.

Oil prices are higher today, along with markets in Europe and most of Asia. With the pound and the euro both higher against the U.S. dollar in forex trading, it appears that U.S. stocks are expected to gain as risk appetite remains a part of the market.
