After three straight days of losses, U.S. stock futures are finally higher -- pointing to a higher open for the U.S. session.
This news comes as the Federal Reserve expresses some hope in economic recovery. The news was tempered by the insistence by the Fed that the recovery will not be robust. However, there is enough hope there to lift U.S. stocks at least a little. This is a welcome change from the losses that have been seen all week so far.
Another factor is merger action that is bringing hope, as well as as the fact that the ECB is expected to boost its estimated growth forecast.
