| July 07, 2009 | | Spread bets and CFDs on the FTSE 100 | Spread betting and contracts for differences on the British stock market should consider that it is bouncing back today. Thanks to mining companies, the FTSE 100 is shrugging off disappointing economic data and gaining as the session nears its close. Bloomberg reports on the FTSE 100 on the British stock market:
“It is a reversal of fortune that is lifting the FTSE
today,” said Philip Gillet, a London-based sales trader at IG
Index. “A bounce back by the mining sector is helping to lift
sentiment across the market.”
There is hope that demand for commodities will soon increase, and that is helping miners lift the entire FTSE 100. Of course the downside is that confidence could wane and that investors could realize that the British economy as a whole is still in pretty rought shape.
