| April 15, 2009 | | Spread bets and CFDs on the U.S. stock market | Spread betting and contracts for differences on U.S. stocks should take into consideration the fact that President Barack Obama plans to release the results of bank stress tests that were put into place not too long ago.
Many have been arguing against the release of these stress test results, claiming that they could cause issues for the U.S. stock market if it becomes common knowledge that our biggest banks are in trouble.
Supporters of the decision say that it is a move that will allow investors information regarding which banks are the strongest. They can then put their money into banks that are well capitalized and less likely to fail.
At any rate, when the stress test results are released, there is a good chance that there will be a drop -- perhaps only temporary, though -- on the U.S. stock market.
