| March 10, 2009 | | Spread bets and CFDs on the stock market | Spread betting and contracts for differences on world stocks should consider that a number of indices have moved higher today. The US stock market is higher on news that Citi has posted profits for the first part of 2009, and hope that more optimistic rhetoric from the US government means that things could be turning around.
World stock indices in Asia and Europe also made turnarounds. Only the Japanese Nikkei was unaffected by this rally in global equities. The FTSE 100 index is heading higher in stock trading as well, buoyed by increased risk appetite.
Overall, today is seeing a remarkable rebound in the world stock market. We will have to see if it lasts into tomorrow.
