World Stock Markets Take a Hit

Spread bets and CFDs on world stock indices
Spread betting and contracts for differences should consider that the world stock market has taken a serious hit today. News about Japanese economy, as well as warnings from the G7 meeting that the recession is likely to continue to get worse, are not helping investor confidence.

The U.S. stock market is closed today for holiday, but the following world stock indices dropped today:
  • Nikkei 225
  • FTSE 100
  • Hang Seng Index
  • Kospi
  • DAX
  • CAC 40
It remains to see whether tomorrow's expected signing of the U.S. economic stimulus bill will provide some confidence -- and overcome the continued disappointment with the U.S. bank rescue plan.
