How Would Banks Do with a "Stress Test"?

Shedding light on financials' true losses could destroy confidence
Right now, the U.S. stock market is bouncing back. After yesterday's devastating losses -- spurred in part by a lack of confidence in Timothy Geithner's bank rescue plan -- stocks are recovering a bit. Even bank stocks are making a comeback today on the stock market.

Would such a requirement send Wall Street tumbling again as investors realize how precarious the situation is for many financial institutions?
