U.S. Stock Market Plunges

Retail sales data, economic worries slam U.S. stocks
Spread bets and CFDs on the U.S. stock market should consider that it is taking a beating today. Earlier, retail sales data was released, making a dismal showing. As a result, economic worries are back in full swing and U.S. stocks are falling fast.

Retail sales were worse than expected (and bad things were expected), a large part of the problem coming due to a lackluster holiday shopping season.

Global recession continues to be a main driver. The U.S. dollar was actually helped by this news, however. With the current state of the world economy, the greenback is considered a safe haven.
