TARP Funds for U.S. Auto Industry

Spread betting and contracts for differences on individual equities
Spread bets and CFDs on auto makers should consider that the U.S. government has finally come through for the automakers with a bailout. TARP funds, to the tune of $13.4 billion, will be used to offer short-term funding to General Motors (GM) and Chrysler (privately held).

As one would expect, the broader U.S. stock market has been energized by the news. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) is gaining right now, at a rather rapid pace.

Combined with yesterday's better than expected jobless data, this news of help for the U.S. auto industry should provide a needed boost.
