Personal Spending Boosts US Stock Market

Spread bets and CFDs on US stocks
Spread betting and contracts for differences on the US stock market should consider the effects of personal spending. The economic data shows that personal spending beat forecasts, and this was interepreted by the stock market as good news. Bloomberg reports on some of the US stocks advancing today:

Coca-Cola Co., the world's largest soft-drink maker, and General Motors Corp., the biggest automaker, climbed after the Commerce Department said consumer spending, which accounts for more than two-thirds of the economy, rose at a 2.3 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and American Express Co. also advanced.
