Aluminum Takes Off in Commodities Trading

Chinese supply problems prompt rally in aluminum prices
[Blizzards in China are] making aluminum scarce, and it is rising on the commodities market as a result
Aluminum is taking off in commodities trading right now as supply disruptions in China, due to fierce blizzards, drive the price up. If snowstorms continue, some say, output could be reduced by as much as 400,000 tons. This is making aluminum scarce, and it is rising on the commodities market as a result. Bloomberg reports on aluminum in commodities trading:

``Aluminum had a staggering day yesterday and it looks like we're seeing some continuation buying today,'' said John Kemp, an analyst at Sempra Metals Ltd. in London. ``Aluminum is benefiting in part because it's the one metal that hasn't gone up significantly in the past four years.''
