Copper Futures Down in Commodities Trading

Employment data hurts copper prices
Copper prices are dropping mainly because the cooling U.S. economy has lower demand for it in commodities trading.
Even though copper futures were up earlier in commodities trading, they are falling now, after a weak employment report from the U.S. Copper prices are dropping mainly because the cooling U.S. economy has lower demand for it in commodities trading. Bloomberg reports on the effects of U.S. economic data on copper futures:

``The employment data underscores a weakening economic environment in the U.S.,'' said Eric Wittenauer, industrial metals analyst at A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. in St. Louis. ``The weak economic outlook is reflected in the copper price slide.''
