With commodities in Australia going strong, the economy is being driven by expansion. Bloomberg reports on the likely rise in Australian interest rates:
The RBA will raise rates because ``commodity prices keep on
rising,'' Halmarick said. ``We're expecting higher prices in 2008
for coal, iron ore and gold. Those three products alone are over
40 percent of Australia's commodity index.''
