| August 14, 2007 | | Oil prices and financial spread betting strategy | Crude oil prices, which have been somewhat volatile of late, are up again on the commodities market as an Atlantic storm forms. This storm is underscoring the fact that hurricane season is underway, and will last until November. Bloomberg reports on the Atlantic storm:
``There's been a bit of support from equity markets
stabilizing and the development of the tropical storm,'' said
Olivier Jakob, managing director at Petromatrix Gmbh in Zug,
Switzerland. ``It's too early to call off the hurricane season.
They can strike until November.''
Another factor in crude oil prices that one might consider when placing spread bets is that the market is stabilizing, and OPEC is predicting increased demand.
