European stocks edged lower Friday as traders got
their first chance to react to a monetary-policy statement issued by
the Federal Reserve, which said there's been progress on bringing U.S.
inflation to heel but conceded that worries aren't over.
On the final day of the second quarter, the pan-European Dow Jones Stoxx 600 fell 0.4% to stand at 389.96, led by U.K. real-estate companies after HSBC cut earnings forecasts across the sector.
