Spread betting and contracts for differences on the FTSE 100 might consider shorting the British stock market index, as it is quite volatile on fears of another interest rate hike. Inflation is causing troubled among British stocks, and investors are skittish about the FTSE 100. Bloomberg offers this insight that could help with spread bets and CFDs on the FTSE 100:

``Fears of inflationary pressures and rising rates are weighing heavily on portfolio managers' minds again,'' said Andrew French, a sales trader at E*Trade Securities in London. ``We're in for a volatile week and all eyes will be on the economic data for direction.''
