| May 23, 2007 | | Spread bets and CFDs on French individual equities | French individual equities are on the rise as they lead the French stock index higher. Telecom stocks are especially successful right now, and spread betting and contracts for differences on these French individual equities could prove profitable. Bloomberg reports on telecom stocks and the French stock index:
Alcatel-Lucent, the world's largest supplier of
telecommunications equipment, advanced 35 cents, or 3.5 percent,
to 10.48 euros. Chief Financial Officer Jean-Pascal Beaufret said
at an investor presentation in New York yesterday that the
company is ``confident'' of reaching cost-savings targets. Chief
Executive Officer Patricia Russo said integration plans are ``on
track.''
France Telecom SA, Europe's second-biggest telephone
company, gained 38 cents, or 1.7 percent, to 22.5 euros. | | |
