| April 05, 2007 | | Dow Jones Stoxx 600 dips slightly | Ahead of the Easter holiday, European stock indices are trading in tight ranges. The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 is down a very little bit. Spread betting and contracts for differences could be a bit tricky as we head into the weekend. MarketWatch reports on European stock indices:
European shares stayed in a tight trading range on
Thursday, with investors cautious ahead of key U.S. jobs data and the
Easter holiday break, although the Bank of England helped sentiment in
the U.K. banking sector after keeping interest rates steady at 5.25%.
At mid-session, the pan-European Dow Jones Stoxx 600 index
dipped 0.1% at 379.77, as slight gains from oil and gas shares were offset by weakness in the automotive sector.
