| March 05, 2007 | | Spread betting and contracts for differences on European stocks | Nordic stocks are leading the decline in Western Europe as the stock rout from last week continues. European stocks are falling as investors scramble to get rid of wrong positions, taking what profits they may have and limiting their losses. Spread bets and CFDs should short Nordic stocks and European stocks in general for now. Bloomberg reports on the decline in Nordic stocks:
Nordic stocks dropped to a seven-week
low on concern the pace of growth in China may slow. Rautaruukki
Oyj and Outokumpu Oyj paced a slump among steelmakers, the most
sensitive to a cooling of the world's fastest-growing major
economy.
``With the market movements we've seen in the last few days,
investors by definition will be sitting on wrong positions they
are eager to get out of,'' said Lars Soederfjell, head of equity
strategy at ABG Sundal Collier in Stockholm. ``Uncertainties like
these never take less than a week to dissipate.'' | | |
