Australian Bonds on the Rise

Widening gap with U.S. Treasury bonds

Austrialian government bonds are pushing higher, due to forecasts of an interest rate hike. With rates likely to increase, the sensitive two-year bond is moving up.

The move is widening the gap between Australian bonds and U.S. Treasury bonds, which carry similar dates. The gap is now at 88 basic points.
